6th Annual Devens Charity Chili Cook-Off Raised over $8700!!

The 6th Annual Devens Charity Chili Cook-Off was another GREAT Success!!  On Sunday, October 10th over 600 people gathered on Devens Common to taste the spectacular chili that the 18 local contestants served up.  Congratulations to Brian Hanson and Kevin Scott from Holmes Auto Repair (Booth #4) who took the 1st Place Trophy!! They generously donated their winnings back to The Autism Resource Center.  The awesome staff from The Devens Common Center and the Spring Hill Suites Marriott ( Booth #13) came in 2nd Place, congratulations all!  Special thanks to all the vendors for their participation, including: The Ayer- Shirley School District, Arthur Anderson, Connie MacKinnon, Patrick Crockett, John Waugh, Matt Daluca, Earl Hasz, Sheryl from Oliver’s Restaurant, Lisa DiCarlo, Monica Farley, Frank Lomardo from Francesco’s Chili, Bill Brady from Sonoma Restaurant, Mike Zucco from Red Tail Golf Course, Sal Buonacore, Mia McDonald, Michael Harmon, Alex Atto from Main Street Café, Deb and Dottie from the Wholesome Café, Stacia Twomey and John Koukias.

Everyone enjoyed the days festivities including face painting by Lauren Gailey, great  music, the moon bounce and of course the spectacular Chili!!  All proceeds from the event are being donated to The Autism Resource Center of Central Mass.  They are a wonderful organization that helps families and neighbors help deal with this overwhelming issue in our region.  Together we raised over $8700!!

Without the generous contributions of local businesses we could not have been so successful!  Thank you to Health Alliance Hospital, Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce and all the other local supporters for our raffles!

Hope to see you all again next year for a day of great fun and tons of chili!

John and Elaine Gailey, The Devens Grill
